Noise Monitoring

One of the most significant hazards in the workplace is exposure to noise. Noise is an inherent aspect of daily life, both at work and socially.

However, excessive, or prolonged exposure can lead to irreversible hearing loss, hearing quality impairment, and other health effects. Workers in the mining industry are unavoidably exposed to higher levels of noise and therefore, monitoring these levels and maintaining standards is crucial, not only to meet compliance requirements but for the health and wellbeing of your workers.

Complete Envirotest can assist with all your noise monitoring requirements, helping you to meet state and national standards.

Our noise monitoring services include:

Site Noise Surveys

Our skilled technicians will assess your operations across the complete mine site, including underground, dedicated construction sites and maintenance workshops. The survey results will show you those areas within the workplace where hearing protection is required and must be mandatory. The report will also indicate areas where signage is required to notify personnel that protective hearing gear is needed prior to entering.

Equipment Noise Certificates

We’ll provide you with detailed noise monitoring Information on what’s occurring both inside and outside machinery cabins. To ensure safety and compliance, we’ll also provide a visual guide to what is deemed a safe working perimeter and the areas where hearing protection will be required.

Personal Noise Monitoring

Your workers are exposed to different noises each hour they’re onsite. So, what better way to monitor what they’re exposed to than by non-intrusively securing a compact noise meter to them. These meters, named dosimeters, will collect data throughout a workers shift, providing specific and detailed information about their exposure to noise.

Sound Booths Calibrations

Based off thorough testing, we’ll provide detailed information to owners of sound booths to help them remain compliant. These reports will also instill confidence that booths are within specifications and are operating in suitable environments.

Noise monitoring and management not only means reducing noise but initiating and implementing a total noise control action plan that is specifically tailored to your workplace.

Under the Department of Mines, Industry Regulation and Safety (DMIRS), this total noise control action plan is mandatory for all mining operations in Western Australia.

Complete Envirotest’s highly skilled and accredited Noise Officers can be onsite with minimal notice to conduct noise surveys and measurements.

Our comprehensive review meets current DMIRS and WorkSafe regulatory requirements, meaning you’ll have complete confidence knowing your workplace has been correctly assessed and will be compliant.
